WalletHub evaluated institutions across seven categories: student selectivity, affordability, faculty resources, campus safety, campus experience, educational outcomes, and career outcomes.

Trinity also ranked 49th in the nation out of 738 U.S. colleges and universities examined by WalletHub. Trinity rose above the University of Texas at Austin (No. 3 in Texas; 63 in the nation, Texas A&M (No. 4 in Texas; 136 in the nation), and Southwestern (No. 5 in Texas; 168 in the nation). Rice University claimed the top Texas university spot, and placed 11th in the nation. For more on how Texas schools rated, the San Antonio Current provides a detailed rundown.

This year’s position on the WalletHub list is an improvement for Trinity, which took third place in Texas last year–62nd overall. This is just one of the ways Trinity is gaining a reputation as a nationally recognized liberal arts and sciences university. Trinity reached No. 15 among America’s best small colleges and No. 16 among liberal arts colleges by Niche, and ranked among the top 20% of universities in the U.S. News & World Report National Liberal Arts Colleges list.
