Trinity University has once again been named among the “Best Value Colleges 2027” by The Princeton Review, ranking No. 44, up two spots from last year.
The return on investment (ROI) of a Trinity education received a score of 90 out of 99 by the publication, placing it among the top 50 private universities in the country for ROI. The list includes larger schools such as Northwestern, Duke, Dartmouth, and Stanford. The ROI factors in a university’s academic rating, financial aid, and cost to arrive at schools that offer “excellent academics, great financial aid, and/or low cost of attendance. Simply put, it means value,” the publication says.
Trinity was also included in the top 50 “Colleges that Create Futures” that “empower students to discover practical applications for their talents and interests through experiences that complement their classes and coursework.” This list includes all universities, from small liberal arts colleges to public flagship schools.
Student surveys are another key part of their ranking. Trinity students said the university “has a varied demographic, which creates a ‘rich tapestry of experiences’” and a “very family-like atmosphere.”
The publication also reports that students “share a common goal of ‘being interested in learning and (being) hardworking’ and many ‘take on multiple disciplines of education and are involved in an array of campus organizations.’ There’s a reason students are known as Trinity Tigers: they are ‘helpful, collaborative, and rarely competitive,’ say enrollees, and are ‘cultivating life-long relationships.’”
In August, The Princeton Review included Trinity in its 2027 guide, The Best 392 Colleges, and ranked its lab facilities No. 11, financial aid No. 16, and health services No. 25.
Niche ranked Trinity No. 15 in the Best Small Colleges in America category and the No. 16 Best Liberal Arts Colleges in America.
U.S. News listed Trinity No. 35 among Top Private Schools and No. 38 among all national liberal arts colleges.
Applications to Trinity have topped 11,000 for five consecutive years. The 654 first-year students in the Class of 2030 were accepted from nearly 12,000 applicants; the acceptance rate for the class was 28%. The retention rate for first-year students is 92%.
Three Trinity students and one recent graduate won Fulbright Scholarships in the spring (one ultimately declined the award), and Alynn Jimenez Miranda ’27 became the university’s first Truman Scholar since 1998.
