Student Employment at Trinity
An essential part of Trinity's workforce is made up of the hundreds of students who participate in Student Employment and the Federal Work-study program.
Essential Procedures & Requirements
The Student Employment Policy outlines the procedures & requirements for students currently employed in a university office or department through part-time positions, both regular-wage or work-study and the supervising faculty and staff from Trinity University departments and offices who hire student workers.
Applying for a Job:
Step 1
Please review the list of vacant student positions available for Federal Work Study or Institutional Student Employment on Handshake, and select a job in which you are interested. Contact the department(s) of interest and schedule an interview.
Departments looking to advertise a position, please complete and submit the On-Campus Student Employment Google Form (For Department Use Only). The Center for Experiential Learning and Career Success will then post the open student position on Handshake.
Step 2
Once your supervisor has officially hired you as a student worker in Workday, please come by Human Resources (Northrup Hall 210) to complete Form I-9. Per federal law, as an employer, Trinity University is required to verify your identity and employment authorization within your first 3 days of work. Students must provide original, unexpired documents that establish their identity and citizenship. Please see the I-9 List of Acceptable Documents.
Step 3
Login to your Workday profile using your Trinity login credentials to complete the student onboarding process, which includes part 1 of your Form I-9 and your W-4/Federal Withholdings Elections. Please reference the Student Onboarding video for assistance.
