Summary
Trinity University has moved up across several important rankings categories from Niche, which combines federal data with direct reviews from students on each school’s academics, diversity, athletics, value, and campus life.

Trinity University has risen in the 2027 Niche rankings and continues to carve out a strong position among liberal arts colleges in the nation.

Trinity is now ranked No. 15 in the Best Small Colleges in America category (up four spots from last year) and No. 16 in the Best Liberal Arts Colleges in America category (up three spots), ahead of schools such as Colgate, Richmond, and Bates. The university rose 11 spots in the Best Colleges in America category, which ranks all public and private universities, to No. 65. Once again, it ranked as the No. 1 Best Liberal Arts College and Best Small College in Texas.

Among colleges of all sizes, Trinity is now one of the top-50 “Private Universities in America” (No. 47), and has risen 10 spots to No. 64 among the “Best Research Universities in America.”

Niche draws data for its rankings from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation. The ranking system prioritizes direct reviews from students on each school’s academics, diversity, athletics, value, and campus life.

“One of the major benefits of the school is the class size,” one surveyed Trinity student wrote. “This makes building a good relationship with your professors incredibly easy.”

A small school environment paired with the resources and opportunities of a larger school has long been a Trinity calling card. The quality of those opportunities, ranging from undergraduate research, internships, study abroad opportunities, and state-of-the-art facilities and equipment matter, too.

“I believe that this school truly helps you find your path in life, no matter where you are on your college journey,” another student wrote. “The professors are all so interesting, and the labs that I've taken so far have all been amazing.”

Just minutes from downtown San Antonio, Trinity’s location in a dynamic, urban environment is a major departure from many other liberal arts universities. Prospective students can learn more at Trinity Admissions.
