How to Apply as a Graduate Student
Step 1
Review Admissions Criteria
Each graduate program has unique admissions criteria, but all require a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Example program-specific requirements may include:
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (for several programs)
- Course prerequisites (for business-related programs)
- Teaching field hours (for master’s in teaching)
Current employment in health care (for health care executive program)

Step 2
Submit Your Application
Complete the Trinity Graduate Application online.
This requires a $50 non-refundable application fee, payable online through a secure link in the admissions portal.
Step 3
Submit Required Documents
Gather/request and submit the supplemental materials required for your program of interest. These may include:
- Official college transcripts
- Resume or CV
- Personal statement
- Letters of recommendation or references
- Writing sample
- Test scores (optional, such as GMAT, GRE, or Praxis)

Step 4
Complete Admissions Interview (if applicable)
Some graduate programs may require a face-to-face interview with a faculty member or admissions committee.
Step 5
Track Your Application Status
After submitting your application, you will receive access to an admissions portal, where you can track your status and next steps.
Graduate Financial Aid
As you prepare to apply for admissions, it’s also time to consider applying for financial aid.
If you are considering a federal student loan, submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility.
Several graduate programs at Trinity offer financial support through:
- merit scholarships
- graduate assistantships
- teaching fellowships
- paid internships
Finally, some students receive tuition support through their employer or veteran education benefits.

What to Know Before You Apply
Academic Schedule and Format
Trinity’s graduate programs are primarily campus-based, with classes held during the day at our San Antonio campus. Limited evening and hybrid options are available.
Internships and Field Placements
Several graduate programs require full-time field experiences, clinical placements, or internships. You should be aware of this commitment before applying.
