The arts and humanities are both a pair of sunglasses and a magnifying glass. Through them, you can see the immensity of the panorama, in all its colors, and the details of specific areas and the threads that bring us together. 

The arts and humanities are also a composition of disciplines that foster abilities mostly needed in your life after college: critical thinking, discernment, communication skills, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Academic Offerings

CASAH is comprised of nine departments and twelve interdisciplinary programs. 

Each department and program approaches different but related themes in the humanities: Historical and Global Cultures; Literatures, Ethics, and Beliefs; and Performance and Creative Arts.

From learning about humanity’s cultural and historical pasts to its creative interpretations and social manifestations, CASAH will offer you an opportunity to foster and communicate your individual perspectives in collaboration and, most importantly, in community.  In a world now defined by social media and AI, the arts and humanities will offer you fundamental skills to thrive in any economy and context.
