Our Mission and Values
The Arts & Humanities at Trinity invite students to explore what it means to be human—through language, creativity, history, and critical inquiry. Here, students engage deeply with ideas, cultures, and forms of expression that shape our world and our place within it.
Mission
Our mission is to cultivate thoughtful, creative, and articulate thinkers who can interpret complex ideas, communicate with clarity, and approach challenges with empathy and insight. Through close collaboration with faculty, students learn to ask meaningful questions, challenge assumptions, and develop and produce original perspectives.
Values
Our values center on curiosity, creativity, and connection. We believe the arts and humanities are essential—not only for understanding the past and present, but for imagining new possibilities for the future.
Combining research and experiential learning with an interdisciplinary perspective, the School creates curious, critical thinkers and innovators who apply themselves beyond the classroom.
Meet the Dean
Rubén Dupertius, the dean of the School of Arts and Humanities, welcomes any opportunity he gets to uplift the humanities, from teaching as a religion professor to building an undergraduate research program that invites students to be full collaborators.
