Your Trinity experience is about care and support
College is a time of growth, opportunity, and transition. Whether a student is facing academic, personal, emotional, or behavioral challenges, our team is committed to providing compassionate support, connecting students with resources, and helping them navigate their Trinity experience.
Student Care Referral
Concerned about a student? The Trinity community can help support students who are in need of personal or academic assistance. Submit a Student Care Referral so our Care Team can provide coordinated outreach, support, care, and resources. Submitting a Student Care Referral is a way to connect a student to support. It does not mean the student is in trouble. Our goal is to listen, provide resources, and help students flourish at Trinity and beyond.
- Anyone can submit a Student Care Referral. It can be submitted by students, faculty, staff, families, or community members.
- Following a review of the Student Care referral, the student's needs are assessed and outreach is coordinated with the most appropriate Student Success Team (SST) or TU HEART team member.
- Meeting with a student aims to assess concerns, identify needs, and refer to appropriate support resources.
- SST & TU HEART meet weekly to gather more information, identify additional connections, and strategize next steps for student support
If it is an emergency, please call the TUPD emergency line at 210-999-7000.
Student Care Teams
Student Success Team
The Student Success Team (SST) is a small cross departmental group who collaboratively work together to support students who are struggling academically, emotionally, or socially, and implement intervention strategies and forms of support.
TU HEART: Behavioral Intervention Team
Trinity University Holistic Assessment and Response Team (TU HEART) assists in addressing situations in which students are displaying behaviors that are concerning, disruptive, or threatening in nature and that potentially impede their own or others’ ability to function successfully or safely. TU Heart works to maintain confidentiality and partner with students’ families appropriately to support the health and safety of students.
