Community Standards at Trinity reflect the University's commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive community where students are supported, challenged, and empowered to thrive. Grounded in Trinity's foundational values, our community standards and Code of Conduct encourage personal responsibility, mutual respect, and accountability while promoting student learning and development.
More than a set of rules, the Student Code of Conduct is a developmental framework that helps students learn, grow, and contribute to a thriving campus community. Grounded in a culture of care and respect, it encourages students to engage responsibly with others, navigate challenges with integrity, and develop the skills necessary for collaborative engagement, social responsibility, and active citizenship.
The student conduct process provides opportunities for reflection, accountability, and growth. The process helps students understand the impact of their choices, how to better navigate conflict, and develop the judgment and responsibility needed to contribute to a thriving community.
Standards of Conduct General Information
Expectations of Students
Trinity University strives to preserve the rights and dignity of individuals and to create an environment in which civility, decency, and respect are honored. Students are expected to take responsibility for their actions and show respect for themselves, others, the University community, and property.
A student’s matriculation at Trinity University implies their understanding and support of University standards. Failure to observe these standards and other regulations will subject the student to University action through established procedures for the administration of student conduct standards.

In this community of scholars, respect and acceptance of differing points of view is fundamental to creating the quality of life that encourages growth and development. The diversity of this community places upon all its citizens an obligation to respect the perspectives of others who are different from themselves.

Community Input for Procedures and Policies
The Dean of Students office will seek input from the campus community in determining and developing procedural guidelines and policies which will ultimately be approved by the Vice President for Student Affairs or designee.
