Types of Scholarships Awarded
First-year applicants do not need to apply separately for most Trinity scholarships. All applicants are automatically considered for these awards as part of the admission process. Some specialized scholarships may require additional steps.
Trinity awards merit-based scholarships to students who demonstrate intellectual curiosity, drive, and a commitment to purposeful learning. Scholarships are often combined with grants, student employment, and loans to create a personalized financial plan that supports your education.
Merit-Based Scholarships
Your application for admission also serves as your application for merit scholarship consideration. Merit scholarships are awarded for academic achievement and range from $12,000–$35,000 annually.
Talent and Special Interest Scholarships
These scholarships recognize achievement in areas such as the arts, debate, leadership, and other special interests.

Trinity Tower Scholarship
Up to 20 full-tuition scholarships are awarded to entering first-year students who receive top merit scholarships and are invited to participate at the Trinity Tower Scholars Day (TTSD) competition. Invitations to TTSD are issued to students in the top portion of the applicant pool.
Semmes Distinguished Scholars in Science Scholarship
Full-tuition scholarship for students interested in studying STEM fields at Trinity. This scholarship includes a $5,000 stipend to be used for research support, professional travel, materials, and supplies.
Music Scholarship
Music scholarships are awarded to incoming first-year students based on musical ability. Awards are available to music majors and non-majors in voice, composition, and a variety of instrumental areas.
Baker Duncan Theatre Scholarship
Baker Duncan Theatre Scholarships are awarded to meritorious incoming first-year students who are interested in all aspects of theatre, including performance, directing, design, theatre management, and theatre scholarship.
Baker Duncan Art Scholarship
Baker Duncan Art Scholarships are awarded to meritorious incoming first-year and transfer students who plan to pursue a major in studio art. Awards are competitive, merit-based, and renewable.
Baker Duncan Debate Scholarship
Baker Duncan Debate Scholarships are awarded to talented incoming first-year students who plan to join and remain active in Trinity’s Debate program. Awards are competitive, merit-based, and renewable.
Storer and Tillman Christian Leadership Scholarship
The Storer and Tillman Christian Leadership Scholarship is a renewable, need-based award for incoming first-year and transfer students who want to develop their leadership skills in the context of their faith.
Murchison Scholarship
Murchison scholarships are offered to students with distinguished scholastic records. Select Murchison recipients are invited to compete for up to 20 full tuition scholarships during Trinity Tower Scholars Day or Semmes Scholars Day.

The Accounting Award is for rising graduate students in accounting with outstanding potential.
Given by the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Graduate students with excellent undergraduate and graduate academic records, high moral character, and high potential for a successful accounting career will receive the award.
The ARASE Scholarship is a one-time award for winners of the Alamo Academy Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
Baker Duncan Art Scholarships are awarded to meritorious incoming First-Year students who are interested in pursuing a major in studio art.
Baker Duncan Debate scholarships are granted to incoming First-Year students with a talent for debating and a desire to commit to Trinity’s debate program.

Baker Duncan Theatre Scholarships are awarded to meritorious incoming First-Year students who are interested in all aspects of theatre, including performance, directing, design, theatre management, and theatre scholarship.
The Baumberger Scholarship is a need-based award for certain graduating high school seniors from Bexar County, Texas.
The program seeks to encourage and enable highly motivated students to pursue opportunities available to them and to be courageous in the selection of a graduate course of study in arts, humanities, and social sciences. Since 1975 the program has selected more than 590 college juniors from 100 different undergraduate schools for support during graduate study at any accredited university.
Awards are exclusively for graduate study in the arts, social sciences, or humanities (not for professional school or for study in the natural sciences, neuroscience).
There are no geographic restrictions on the use of the scholarship, and recipients are allowed to supplement the award with other scholarships, assistantships and research grants. Scholars are encouraged to begin graduate study as soon as possible following graduation from college, and must utilize all of the funding within five years of completion of undergraduate studies.

A scholarship presented to a student with junior standing who has declared a major in business administration, concentrating in marketing, and who, through their academic performance (both overall and in the marketing area), has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and strong potential for continued success at the senior level.
Awarded exclusively to students of sociology who are in good academic standing and demonstrate considerable academic merit. For nearly two decades, the department of sociology and anthropology has awarded its C. Wright Mills Award, the highest honor it confers, to a junior or senior sociology major whose work best exemplifies the theories and methods of the field. The recipient will have best demonstrated the "sociological imagination," Mills' (1916-1962) notion of understanding the intersections of biography with history, how what individuals sense to be personal problems are often derived from broad historical change and institutional contradictions.
Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000, but more substantial requests will be considered if justified appropriately.
Award recipients are expected to:
- Take photos while abroad to be used by Trinity
- Assist faculty leaders while abroad
- Assist in the Trinity Study Abroad Fair in September, at other events at Trinity, for a maximum of 5 hours
The Cook Endowed English scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated exceptional creative writing skills.
