Trinity University’s K.C. Leong Featured on KSAT 12 News for Joint Research with Southwest Research Institute
Leong and SwRI are developing oxytocin-based therapy as a potential new option for Treatment for PTSD.

K.C. Leong, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology at Trinity University, was featured on KSAT 12 News for collaborating with the Southwest Research Institute on a new research project to develop an oxytocin-based nasal spray aimed at helping treat post-traumatic stress disorder. Funded through the inaugural Trinity–SwRI Research Collaboration Program, the effort explores whether intranasal delivery of the hormone, often associated with bonding and stress regulation, could provide a more accessible option for patients who do not respond well to traditional PTSD treatments. The project also involves Trinity students in early-stage research and is ultimately intended to benefit groups such as veterans and first responders. Read or listen to the full story here.
