Trinity Alum Karen Valby Profiles Star Actor in Vanity Fair

Trinity Alumna Karen Valby ’96 (BA English) is an author and a contributing editor for Vanity Fair, whose recent feature on actor Pedro Pascal made the cover of the magazine’s July/August 2025 issue. It turns out the writer and the star of The Last of Us and The Mandalorian share ties to San Antonio and Trinity University. While interviewing Pascal for the story, Valby learned that Pascal’s mother also graduated from Trinity (MA Psychology) and that they both tragically lost their mothers at a young age. “Whether we like it or not, we’re bonded,” Pascal says to Valby in the story.
