A new festival in Tehuacana, Texas will celebrate the origins of Trinity University and boost support for restoring Texas Hall, which served as the University’s first home when it opened in 1869. KCEN TV in Waco reports that the historical preservation nonprofit Preservation Texas is using the event to educate the community about the historical significance of the site, known as College Hill, and to share plans for transforming it into the future home of the Preservation Texas Institute.
The College Hill Festival is free and takes place from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10. Attendees can explore the former Trinity campus, enjoy food and live music, learn from live heritage demonstrations, and shop the community rummage sale. Watch the full news story here.
