Honoring the Educators Who Shape Our Future

For more than four decades, the Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching has celebrated exceptional educators whose passion, innovation, and leadership transform classrooms and strengthen communities.

Presented by Trinity University in partnership with the Center for Educational Leadership and Whataburger, the award recognizes teachers whose impact extends far beyond the school day.

Celebrating Excellence Since 1982

The Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching is one of the region’s longest-standing educator recognition programs, honoring outstanding teachers who inspire students, elevate their profession, and strengthen public education across the San Antonio area.

Nominations

Each year, school districts nominate exceptional classroom educators whose dedication, creativity, and leadership have made a lasting difference for students, families, and their communities.

Educators who exemplify what great teaching looks like, not only through instructional excellence, but through mentorship, innovation, service, and an unwavering commitment to student success.

Recipients are selected by their school districts because they:

  • Inspire students to reach their highest potential
  • Foster inclusive and engaging learning environments
  • Lead by example within their schools and communities
  • Demonstrate innovation in teaching and learning
  • Create lasting impact beyond the classroom
