Counseling Services

Students meet one-on-one with a counselor in a supportive, confidential environment. Counseling can help with anxiety, stress, relationships, identity exploration, adjustment to college, depression, trauma, and personal growth.

Counselors work collaboratively with students to identify goals, explore challenges, and build strategies for support and growth. Services are confidential, available at no charge, and have no session limits.

Virtual counseling is also available through TigerCare Live, including evening, weekend, and year-round appointments.

Relationship Counseling supports students navigating challenges with romantic partners, roommates, suitemates,
or friends. Sessions focus on improving communication, managing conflict, and strengthening relationships.

Common topics include:

- Communication challenges
- Conflict or trust concerns
- Differing goals or expectations
- Changes in relationships

This confidential service is available at no charge to enrolled students.

Counseling Services offers support and discussion groups for students with shared identities and experiences. Groups focus on connection, conversation, and community support rather than psychotherapy.

Current offerings may include groups for:

- Transgender and nonbinary students
- Neurodivergent students
- Other identity- or experience-based communities

Group schedules and availability may vary throughout the year.

Counseling Services provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management for eligible students referred by a counselor. Trinity also offers telehealth psychiatric support through TigerCare Live.

Services may help students managing:

- Anxiety disorders
- Mood disorders
- Other mental health concerns requiring medication support

Some specialized psychiatric care, including ADHD stimulant medication management, requires referral to an off-campus provider.

When students need specialized, ongoing, or long-term support beyond what Counseling Services can provide on campus, we can help connect them with off-campus counselors, psychiatrists, assessment providers, and community resources.

Referrals may include:

- Long-term counseling
- Specialized mental health treatment
- ADHD assessment and treatment
- Psychiatric services
- Documentation for accommodations

Whenever possible, referrals consider student preferences, location, and insurance coverage.
