NMR and Mass Spec Facilities

With funding from the National Science Foundation, the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, and Trinity University, students have access to a 500 MHz NMR spectrometer as well as a recently installed electrospray ionization time-of-flight (ESI-TOF) mass spectrometer, all housed in the new Center for the Sciences and Innovation.  These instruments enable many ongoing research projects and also support instructional laboratory courses at Trinity.

Site for NMR and Mass Spec

While the high initial cost of modern high-resolution NMR and mass spectrometers and the associated cost of maintenance and cryogens prevent many educational institutions from using these powerful tools, San Antonio-area schools have access to our instrumentation for analysis of compounds they have synthesized in experiments at their home institutions.  Please contact Adam Urbach (@email) to discuss options.
