According to federal law (specifically, The Student Right to Know and Campus Security Act of 1990, re-named the Clery Act in 1998), the Trinity University Police Department is required to report “statistics concerning the occurrence of certain criminal offenses reported to the local police agency or any official of the institution who has ‘significant responsibility for student and campus activities.’”
According to federal law, a Campus Security Authority is "an official of an institution who has significant responsibility for student and campus activities, including, but not limited to, student housing, student discipline, and campus judicial proceedings."
Safety Reporting & Crime Information
If you are aware of any crimes listed below that occurred during the calendar year and were not reported to the Trinity University Police Department, please call 210-999-7070 and ask to speak with Cpl. Laura Hernandez.
If you don't know whether or not the crime was reported to the Trinity University Police Department, please contact the Department with any information that you have. Be sure to provide us with:
- The date of the incident (if you don't know the precise date, give her the date or time frame when it was reported to you)
- The location of the incident (if you don't know the exact location, provide as much information as you have)
- A brief description of the incident for classification purposes
- Anything else you know

Campus Security Authorities

Each of these individuals has significant responsibility for student and campus activities.
• A dean of students who oversees student housing, a student center, or student extra-curricular activities
• A director of athletics
• A team coach
• A faculty adviser to a student group

These individuals are unlikely to have significant responsibility for student and campus activities.
• A single teaching faculty member
• A physician in a campus health center whose only responsibility is to provide care to students
• A counselor in a counseling center whose only responsibility is to provide care to students
• Most clerical staff
