The Department of Sociology and Anthropology explores how people, cultures, and communities shape the world around us. Through research, fieldwork, and community engagement, students develop the analytical skills to understand complex social issues while learning to ask thoughtful questions about culture, identity, inequality, health, migration, and justice.
Our Approach to Teaching and Learning
We combine rigorous scholarship with immersive experiences that allow students to examine society firsthand. Faculty mentor students through research projects, community partnerships, internships, and international experiences that transform classroom learning into meaningful action.
