Julie Ledet, M.F.A., director of development for KRTU 91.7 FM, and an instructor in Trinity University’s Department of Media & Communications, has been selected for a City of San Antonio 2027 Artist Grant. Ledet, who is an interdisciplinary artist, is one of 45 recipients of the awards, which are given in the amount of $7,500 or $15,000.

According to a KENS 5 article, the grants support artists across a range of disciplines, including literary, media, multidisciplinary, performing, and visual arts. Funded projects are expected to be presented publicly throughout San Antonio between October 2026 and March 2028.

For Ledet, the grant will fund her research and production of a multidisciplinary exhibition exploring the intersections of bodily disruption, ritual, memory, and recovery through the devotional traditions of southern Louisiana. Combining photography, cemetery rubbings, textiles, sound, and participatory elements, Ledet will create an immersive exhibition examining how inherited rituals and everyday acts of care help individuals and communities navigate grief, uncertainty, and transformation.
