The University honors our outstanding students by selecting recipients for the following awards.

Student Honors

Dean's List

In order to merit the honor of being placed on the Dean’s List, a student must have completed 15 or more grade point-carrying hours of credit in one semester and have earned a grade point average of 3.65 or above. Names of students achieving this distinction are published at the close of each semester.

Dean’s List Notations

Students who have earned inclusion on the Dean's List will have a notation on their TU transcript. The transcript serves as the official record of this honor.

Honor Awards Convocation

Each spring, Trinity University students are recognized during the Honor Awards Convocation for outstanding academic achievement, research, leadership, and service across disciplines. The annual ceremony celebrates departmental, university, and national honors, highlighting the accomplishments of students whose work exemplifies excellence inside and outside the classroom.

Disciplinary and Interdisciplinary Honors

Outstanding Senior in Accounting – awarded to a senior majoring in accounting who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement

Outstanding Master of Science in Accounting Award – given to an outstanding accounting student in the Master of Science in Accounting program, with selection based on undergraduate and graduate academic records, high moral character, and high potential for a successful career in accounting

Excellence in Art – presented to a senior art major who displays ongoing evidence of outstanding achievement in studio art

Frances K. Hendricks Fine Arts Award – given by the Spurs sorority to a student whose achievements in the fine arts have been recognized unanimously as most distinguished by the chairs of the Departments of Art and Art History, Human Communication and Theatre, and Music

Outstanding Senior in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology – jointly offered by the Departments of Biology and Chemistry to an outstanding senior in the biochemistry and molecular biology major

Outstanding Senior in Biology – based on academic achievement, potential for research in biology or the biomedical sciences, and overall contributions made to the University and the Department of Biology

Jacob Uhrich Scholarship – established by an endowment made in honor of Dr. Jacob Uhrich, a former faculty member in the Department of Biology, providing financial assistance to accomplished biology majors with demonstrated financial need

D. Harold Byrd Academic Achievement Award – a scholarship presented to a student with junior standing who has declared a major in business administration, with a concentration in marketing, and who, through their academic performance (both overall and in the marketing area), has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and strong potential for continued success at the senior level

Future Sustainability Champion – This award recognizes a senior completing the minor in sustainable business who demonstrates academic excellence and exceptional commitment to building a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future. This award honors those who actively promote innovative ideas, practices, and leadership that support long-term environmental, social, and economic well-being. Recipients show initiative in creating positive change within their community, and their efforts inspire others to take meaningful action toward a more sustainable world.

Phyllis Rosberg Award – This award goes to a senior student in the Department of Business Administration with a major in marketing who has, through their academic performance (overall and within the marketing area), demonstrated a commitment to excellence. Beyond academic performance, the recipient of this award has also sought out experiences that show determination, zeal, and integrity in pursuit of their development as a marketing professional.
