Stumberg New Venture Competition
The Louis H. Stumberg New Venture Competition annually supports compelling student start-ups. Open to Trinity students as early as their first year through senior-year regardless of student major, industry, non-profit or for-profit structure.
Stumberg Preliminary Round
In the first stage of the Stumberg Competition, teams of student ventures put their business ideas to the test. Pitching their ideas to a panel of judges, students vie to be selected for further mentorship opportunities and thousands of dollars in start-up funding.
At stake? The preliminary round prize for each of the five Finalists to build and develop their venture as well as access to the Final Round of the Competition.
5 teams selected as finalists winning $7,000 in seed funding for each team. What’s next? Team development, team work, and coming in the next semester: the Final Round. At stake? $50k and access to experienced mentors and successful entrepreneurs.
Stumberg Final Round
One of the greatest benefits of reaching the Final Round of the Stumberg Venture Competition is the prestige of the title. The regional startup community recognizes that Finalists are building high-impact ventures. During the event, the Trinity and local business communities gather to hear finalist pitches, offer feedback, and build key connections.
Judged by prominent business leaders, the Final Round highlights the incredible progress, traction, and innovative solutions Trinity students have achieved over their 10-month journey.

Off Campus Pitch Events
Once you've founded your venture and are ready for funding, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship's faculty and staff will support you in preparing an application and travelling to compete at pitch competitions across the city, state, and country!

- Founders Off Script (dinner series - small group of students have dinner with a local founder).

Trinity Incubator
Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows program
Summer Undergraduate Research re-imagined: spend your summer in a 10-week Incubator program as you grow through pitch practice, hands-on-workshops and classes, ecosystem immersion, alumni engagements, cultural enrichments, and by giving back to other entrepreneurs, younger and older than yourself. Stay in San Antonio over the summer and get paid to build your business. Open to students from every major, rising sophomores, rising juniors, and rising seniors are eligible to apply.
The Makerspace
Collaboratively transform your ideas into actual, physical products at the Makerspace. Here, you'll enjoy access to expert faculty and staff support and guidance, safety and creation training, state-of-the-art manufacturing tools from heavy-duty laser cutters to 3D printers, and advanced design software — open to students of all majors.
