Walt retired June 1, 2008 after serving Trinity since 1974.
He received the Gulf Coast Association of Geological Societies (GCAGS) Outstanding Educator award in 2003, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Certificate of Merit in 1999, and the Distinguished Service Award from GCAGS in 1998.
