Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is rooted in Solution-Focused and Narrative Therapy, with a strong belief that you are the expert in your own life. I see therapy as a collaborative space where we can build on your strengths, explore different perspectives, and work towards the goals that matter the most to you. I do my best to show up with curiosity, authenticity, and a little humor when it fits, all while creating a space where you feel comfortable being fully yourself.
Credentials
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas A&M, gig em! I received my master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake University and am currently working to complete my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from OLLU as well. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Doctoral Candidate (PsyD).
What Feeds My Spirit
Iced lattes, going on walks with my dog and husband, reality tv, trying new coffee shops, audiobooks, shopping, playing board games, laughing, spending time with the people that I love.
A Slice from My Journey Thus Far
I grew up with a mom as a psychologist, so I always had a glimpse into what this realm of life could look like, but I wasn’t sure if it was the route for me. Throughout school, I somehow always became the “therapist of the friend group,” and eventually thought I might as well give it a shot in real life! After earning my master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, I fell in love with helping people understand themselves and see things from a different perspective. Pursuing my doctorate has only deepened that passion and continues to challenge me to learn, grow, and show up more intentionally for the clients I serve.
