Professional Interests
Neurodivergence, grief, coping with stress, chronic pain, life transitions, anxiety, identity development and exploration, and body-mind connection.
Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy was built upon a foundation of my master’s-level training in Relational Cultural Theory, which frames chronic disconnection as a source of suffering, and mutual connection as a source of fulfillment. My doctoral program’s strengths-based emphasis on Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy helped me learn how to support clients in re-authoring their stories, and work towards collaboratively setting goals to achieve what is most important to the client.
Credentials
I am a current Doctoral Candidate in Counseling Psychology at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX. I earned dual B.A.s in Psychology and Sociology as well as a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio in San Antonio, TX.
What Feeds My Spirit
Camping with my family, traveling to beautiful places, having good conversations, playing board games, reading, eating delicious food, spending time with the people I love.
A Slice from My Journey Thus Far
When I started my undergraduate degree, I originally majored in Biology because I felt pressured to choose something “practical.” After leaving school and returning several times, I decided to do some exploration of my actual interests and strengths, leading me into a Psychology major. Although things seemed overwhelming, confusing, and discouraging during those early years, I am ultimately incredibly grateful that I ended up on this path!
