Sang-Eun Lee, Ph.D.

Dr. Lee was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, where he had numerous opportunities to explore mathematics from an early age. He later moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, to pursue his Ph.D. in Mathematics at Tulane University. His research centers on mathematical modeling in biology and chemistry, with a particular emphasis on using numerical methods to study problems in continuum mechanics, biomimicry, and biological fluid dynamics.

Dr. Lee values communication between students and faculty as an essential part of teaching and learning mathematics. He has incorporated innovative technologies into the classroom to enhance student engagement and learning. His passion and enthusiasm for teaching during the later years of his doctoral training earned him a teaching excellence award from the department of Mathematics at Tulane University. Most recently, he joined the Trinity community as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics.
