Kristy Trevino, Ph.D.
- Lecturer , Chemistry
Kristy is a Lecturer who teaches a wide range of courses, including First Year Experience (FYE), Chemistry in Everyday Life, General Chemistry, Advanced Chemical Principles Lab, and Analytical Chemistry. She earned her B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Geology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, and went on to complete her Ph.D. in analytical, physical, and materials chemistry at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.
While at CSU, Kristy conducted research on the gas-phase characterization of the water molecule, wastewater remediation of organic contaminants, and the isoelectric point and surface composition of plasma-modified materials. Following graduate school, she worked in the semiconductor industry at GlobalFoundries in upstate New York, where she focused on plasma-based etching across multiple process levels to produce structures on computer chips.
After several years in industry, Kristy returned home to San Antonio and joined the Trinity University community in 2017.
