Lívia H. De Moraes is an Assistant Professor of Music at Trinity University, where she teaches courses in clinical practice in music, music pedagogics, and general music methods. Previously, she served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Elementary Music Education at Oklahoma State University, a teaching assistant at the University of Miami, and a general music educator in school systems in the United States and Brazil. Her research examines practices and policies in general music education that challenge the work of culturally responsible music teachers, as well as explores ways to make music teacher preparation programs more diverse and relevant to all students.

She has published her work in national and international peer-reviewed journals, such as Music Educators Journal and Musica Hodie.

She received a Ph.D. in music education from the University of Miami Frost School of Music, M.M. in music education at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and B.M. with a double major in music education and flute from State University of Campinas (Brazil). She received extensive training in Orff-Keetman approach (Orff-Schulwerk).
