Ancient Mediterranean Studies (B.A., Minor)
The major in ancient Mediterranean studies introduces students to the history, art, culture and literature of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds. Students also learn about the impact of Greece and Rome on other times and places, including our own.
Archaeology (Minor)
The Archaeology minor combines the humanities and social, natural, and computer sciences to study human behavior through the material remains people left behind. Explore how our understanding of the past has influenced modern thought, and vice versa.
Classical Languages (B.A.)
The classical languages major gives students the opportunity to master both ancient Greek and Latin by reading authors such as Homer, Virgil, and Ovid in their original languages. The major also consists of classics courses in English about the history and culture of the Greek and Roman worlds.
Greek (B.A., Minor)
With a major in Greek, students develop their language skills and learn about the culture and history of the ancient Greek world. Students discover how ancient Greek has influenced our modern civilization, from art and literature to drama and language.
Latin (B.A., Minor)
With a major in Latin, students develop their language skills and learn about the culture and history of the Roman world. Students discover how Latin has influenced our modern civilization, from art and literature to drama and language.
Honors in Classics
The Department of Classical Studies offers an Honors Program in Classics. Each year, the classical studies department honors the achievements of some of its excellent students during Trinity’s Honor Awards ceremony.
