Areas of Study
Chemistry students at Trinity study organic, inorganic, analytical, physical and biochemistry through coursework and labs. Upper-division courses let them specialize in biochemistry, spectroscopy, and materials science, while research opportunities offer experience designing and conducting experiments with faculty.
Chemistry (B.A., B.S., Minor)
Study chemistry through rigorous lab work, ACS-certified coursework, and faculty research. Choose from a B.A., B.S., or minor to match your goals.
Biochemistry (B.S.)
This degree provides exceptional preparation for a career in research or in the health professions, including coursework and lab work in all areas of chemistry, biology introductory sequence, seminar, and required research, with a focus on the chemistry of living systems. This degree is certified by the American Chemical Society.
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (B.S.)
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology explores how genes, proteins, and cellular processes shape living organisms. Students learn to connect concepts from biology and chemistry to answer questions about health, disease, biotechnology, and the natural world.
Honors Program
The Chemistry Honors program requires three semesters of research and culminates in the writing and defense of an honors thesis and the presentation of a departmental seminar. The minimum requirements qualifying a student for Departmental Honors include a 3.33 grade point average, both cumulatively and in the major.
