How We Review Transfer Applicants
Applications are reviewed holistically. We consider your academic performance in both high school and college, along with your experiences and involvement.
As part of your application, you will be asked to explain your interest in transferring to Trinity.
Transferring Credits
Transfer credit is evaluated after admission. The Office of the Registrar will review your transcripts and course descriptions to determine which credits will transfer.
Key Points:
- Courses must have a grade of C- or higher to transfer
- If Trinity accepts the credit, it will be applied towards your degree in one of the following ways: elective credit, Pathways general education curriculum, or major requirement credit.
Graduation Requirements at Trinity:
- Complete at least 60 credit hours at Trinity
- Complete at least 15 credit hours in each major (12 upper division)
- Complete your final 30 credit hours at Trinity
What to Know Before You Apply
Academic Schedule
Classes are held during the day, generally between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Limited evening courses are available, and Trinity does not offer online or weekend course options.
International Coursework
International coursework must be evaluated and translated by an approved credential agency. See our Guide for International Applicants for more information.
What to Expect After Acceptance
Credit Evaluations
Following acceptance as a transfer student, the Registrar's office will conduct a credit evaluation to determine which of your incoming credits will be accepted. Introductory general education courses typically transfer, while remedial and technical courses will not transfer to Trinity. If a course does not transfer toward your intended major/minor or the Pathways general education curriculum, it may apply toward elective hours at Trinity. Regardless of how many credits transfer over, you must complete 60 hours (roughly 2 years) in residence in order to earn a degree from Trinity. You can expect to receive your credit evaluation by Dec. 10 (Spring Entry Term)/ June 10 (Fall Entry Term).
Key Points
If we do not receive your completed application by the posted deadline, we cannot guarantee a completed transfer credit evaluation prior to the deposit deadline.
Spring Entry Term
Application Deadline: November 1
Deposit Deadline: December 15
Fall Entry Term
Application Deadline: April 1
Deposit Deadline: June 15
Financial Aid
If you qualify for an academic transfer merit scholarship, it will be indicated in your letter of acceptance. While we cannot provide need-based aid to international students, domestic students looking for need-based aid must submit both the FAFSA and CSS Profile in order to be considered fully for federal and institutional need-based funding. You can expect to receive a financial aid award letter by Dec. 10 (Spring Entry Term)/ June 10 (Fall Entry Term).
