Trinity University has long supported hands-on experiences for our students.
To further invest in Trinity students, the Moody Foundation has launched the Trinity University Moody Opportunity Match, a $1 million effort to create a permanent, endowed base of support for hands-on learning — ensuring that financial barriers never prevent students from participating fully in the opportunities that define a Trinity education.
“I’m leaving this internship with a renewed sense of direction and purpose. I’ve learned that faith-driven leadership doesn’t require perfection or expertise—it requires compassion, commitment, and courage. If I had to describe my SPARK summer in one word, it would be transformative. This experience has stretched me, grounded me, and reminded me of why service and social justice matter.”
- Julia Treviño ‘28, participant in the 2025 SPARK Internship Program (through Chapel | Spiritual Life)
OPPORTUNITY FUNDS
Hands-on learning activates Trinity students.
We will ensure that every student connects academic rigor to real-world impact.
Experiential learning bridges coursework with lived experience—deepening understanding, sharpening analytical thinking, and strengthening the skills that employers value most. Whether navigating fieldwork abroad, contributing to a research lab, or collaborating with professionals in an internship, Trinity students translate knowledge into action in ways that shape their future success.
We will create student experiences that prime them for their futures.
Today’s graduates need more than a degree—they need a record of meaningful experiences. The Opportunity Funds ensure students can take the internships or research positions that strengthen their résumés, and study abroad to show intercultural perspectives and collaboration. We equip students to tell compelling stories in interviews and stand out in competitive job markets and graduate school admissions.
We will immerse our students in San Antonio, our nation, and the world.
Trinity students bring energy, insight, and creativity to every project they join. Fully funded opportunities allow them to contribute to companies, nonprofits, health systems, research institutions, and civic organizations in San Antonio, the US, and around the world. The Opportunity Funds fuel a cycle of impact: students gain confidence and professional clarity, while partner organizations benefit from their skills, perspectives, and drive.
"The opportunities that I have here, the research that I can do here, you can't really do at many other undergraduate schools in the world. This experience has been life-changing, and it has definitely made my chances of getting into a more competitive Ph.D. program a lot higher, just for the fact that I'm an undergrad who's going to publish."
- Filippo Gambacorta '26, a neuroscience major and student researcher from Switzerland
Shaping Student Futures
Trinity University is committed to a future where every student has the opportunity to immerse themselves in the University experience. Experiential learning—internships, research, and study abroad—is not an add-on. It is the critical bridge between classroom knowledge and career success. Your support in funding hands-on learning opportunities for our students will provide access to transformative experiences as part of a vibrant campus community.
