University Symposium Marks Strong Beginning of New Academic Year
Excitement fills Stieren Theater as community gathers together

On Thursday, August 17, faculty and staff joined together for the annual University Symposium. The symposium marked an opportunity to reconvene with fellow community members, and this year more people attended than ever before in recent memory. As seats filled—including in the balcony—energy and excitement for the new academic year rose.

This year, the symposium focused on Preparing for Trinity's Next Strategic Planning Process: Context, Data, and Conversation.” Vanessa B. Beasley, Ph.D., president of Trinity University, and several vice presidents shared data and information that will help frame the strategic planning process.

“A sign of a healthy culture is sharing and transparency, which makes the planning process better,” says President Beasley. “It is important to have opportunities like this symposium because the process is just as important as the result.”

The symposium concluded with faculty and staff participating in breakout discussion groups. President Beasley invited the small groups to imagine our future as we move through this process together.
