Message from the Vice President of Student Affairs

Welcome to the homepage for the Division of Student Affairs!  My colleagues across the division are passionate, caring, and committed educators who chose Trinity to be of service and in community with Trinity University students. We are here to cultivate an inclusive and engaging campus experience where you will form new relationships, encounter new ideas, and develop your mind, body, and spirit. In this setting, we support students' movement through the university experience and into a world where your talents, values, and voice will drive meaningful change in our world."

  Learning and Development

The Student Affairs Learning and Development Domains describe how students will be supported, learn, and grow by virtue of their engagement with Student Affairs programs and services.

Becoming

In the Becoming domain, students are supported in the lifelong journey of self-discovery, purpose-finding, and intellectual curiosity. They engage in self-reflection and build the capacity to continually grow and adapt. Through curiosity-driven exploration, purposeful reflection, and growth-oriented learning, students articulate their evolving identities and values, and take intentional steps toward lives of meaning, vocation, and impact.

Culture of Care

The Culture of Care domain encourages students to develop a deep sense of empathy, respect, and responsibility toward themselves and others. Through this domain, students will cultivate interpersonal and intrapersonal skills that promote compassionate engagement, responsible decision-making, and a commitment to collective well-being. A strong culture of care promotes inclusive environments that foster belonging where every individual feels valued, supported, and accountable to their community.

Social Responsibility

In the Social Responsibility domain, students develop the competencies and mindset needed to contribute proactively to communities and global systems and lead with integrity. They build critical awareness of social systems, develop cultural humility, and serve others through civic engagement and ethical action. Through dialogue across difference, informed advocacy, and service to others, students become thoughtful and inclusive leaders, equipped to foster social impact at local, national, and global levels.

Collaborative Engagement

In the Collaborative Engagement domain, students effectively work with others toward shared goals, and contribute meaningfully to group efforts, while building inclusive, respectful relationships across differences. Working collaboratively and in partnership with diverse teams, students develop skills that enhance their ability to actively listen, effectively contribute to a team, engage in conflict resolution, and understand their impact on the world around them.

Readiness

In the Readiness domain, students build essential literacies and life skills to confidently navigate professional, personal, and community environments. This domain supports growth across multiple dimensions—financial, digital, cultural, informational, health, and resource stewardship—while emphasizing professionalism, self‑efficacy, and strategic engagement. Through intentional practice and reflection, students learn how their competencies contribute to future success, foster supportive help‑seeking behaviors, and enable them to design, evaluate, and implement real‑world solutions.

  Student Handbook

Assembled by the Division of Student Affairs, the Student Handbook is a compendium of significant policies and procedures related to student life on campus.

We envision a transformative campus experience where every student explores their purpose, builds meaningful connections, and grows into a confident, values-driven leader. Through inclusive engagement and holistic development, our students become engaged individuals and global leaders rooted in integrity and empathy.

Strategic Plan

Our strategic plan, Flourishing for Student Success, sets our course in developing transformative learning opportunities, intentional resources and services, and a vibrant, inclusive campus culture. Flourishing for Student Success also aligns the Division’s work with Trinity University’s Strategic Plan, Ready.Set.Rise. launched in February 2025. It serves as a platform to strengthen existing partnerships and build new relationships across campus and the local community by telling our story of impact, innovation, care, curiosity, citizenship, and purpose.

Flourishing for Student Success is our commitment to a student-centered experience and a bold, shared vision for advancing student success through every aspect of our work in the Division of Student Affairs.
