Trinity’s Executive Track for the Master’s of Science in Health Care Administration develops leaders who are prepared for the challenges of healthcare delivery, today and tomorrow. The part-time, distance-learning format provides individuals currently working in a healthcare setting with an opportunity to invest in their future while continuing to work full-time.
What You'll Study
Creating effective decision-makers and innovative thinkers in healthcare
Because students must have prior management-level experience, the program fosters learning opportunities that integrate the theory and principles of health care administration with the richness of each participant’s practice setting.
23-months to complete
The Executive Program usually takes 23 months to complete and consists of 16 courses totaling 43 credit hours. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of conceptual and experiential learning. The hybrid format allows busy professionals like you the opportunity to manage their work schedules and coursework while still working full-time. Each semester starts with a 3-day session at Trinity followed by distance learning to complete each course.
Distance Learning
Courses begin each fall, spring and summer semester with three days of intensive on-campus study. Once students leave the Trinity University campus, they are required to participate in regular class teleconferencing sessions (typically, one teleconference every three weeks).
Learning and interaction are facilitated by using the Internet, e-mail, and teleconferencing. Each course will include approximately five teleconferencing sessions of two hours each.
A typical course sequence is as follows:

Leadership Effectiveness
Analyze managerial leadership models and the exercise of power in the healthcare setting. Students gain skills for dealing with conflict in organizations and affecting organizational change.
Strategic Management of Health Services
This integrative seminar focuses on the management of healthcare organizations from a strategic perspective, with a special emphasis on organization responses to new trends and changing circumstances.
Healthcare Organization Theory and Management
Students gain a foundational framework from which they analyze and consider concepts including organizational culture, team building, power, conflict management, and other organizational dynamics, principles, and findings.
Statistical Analysis in Healthcare Organizations
Learn the basics of statistical analysis. Become a strong decision-maker through the collection, aggregation, and presentation of data, and basic descriptive and inferential statistics.
Performance Improvement
Grasp the fundamentals of guiding and sustaining healthcare organizational performance improvement, including the topics of leadership, culture, employee onboarding and engagement, customer relationship management, and contemporary performance improvement.
