• Dr. Evangeline (Vangie) Aguilera is the Leadership Coordinator for the Center for Educational Leadership, Director of the Trinity School Design Network, and an adjunct faculty member for Trinity Tomorrow’s Leaders Program. Building on her experiences in urban schools as a teacher, supervisor, special programs director, campus principal, and district level senior executive, Dr. Aguilera sees her role as a scholar-practitioner focused on preparing aspiring school leaders for social justice. As Director of Leadership Programs at UTSA, she was recognized as an Outstanding Graduate Advisor of Record for her mentorship and service to students. She holds multiple state certifications and has extensive training as an executive coach. Her experiences provide her with in-depth knowledge and extensive expertise across all levels of education.

    At the community level, some of her current leadership roles include serving on the Board Development Committee for Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas, board member of the Young Women’s Leadership Academy-Primary Campus, and President of the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame (SAWHOF). She is a member of several organizations that focus on educational access and scholarships including the GED Scholarship committee with Alamo Colleges Foundation, SAWHOF with the Young Women’s Leadership Academy, the Pan American League and the SA Women’s Federation. Dr. Aguilera is also a member of SA 100. Among her previous leadership roles, Dr. Aguilera served as chair of the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women and chair of the KLRN Public Television Community Advisory Board.
