• Dr. Lisa Mendoza Knecht is an Educational Research Associate for the Center of Educational Leadership at Trinity University in San Antonio, Tx. Her research interests include Chicanx/Latinx educational issues and policy, Chicanx/Latinx leadership, community action research, K12 partnerships and youth research, and Chicana feminism. Lisa is a UCEA (University Council for Educational Administration) Barbara Jackson Scholar (2020-2022), a TACHE (Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education) graduate fellow (2020-2021), and a doctoral fellow from the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies department at the University of Texas in San Antonio (2017-2020). Lisa has nearly 20 years of experience as a secondary English teacher (grades 6-12) in both urban and rural school districts. Her recent work with the CEL has been instrumental in strengthening research and programming in thought development, innovative leadership programs, and professional development for school districts and school leaders. Lisa lives in San Antonio, Tx with her partner and two children.
